| Why artists and designers could benefit from the recession |

We are all familiar with the doom and gloom of the economy at the moment but for those who make their living from producing artwork the recession could turn out to be a good thing. With low interest rates and an underperforming stock market investors are looking for somewhere else to put their money and with genuine artwork holding its value there may be no better place.
Jeremy Lamond an auctioneer at Shropshire-based Halls Auctioneers told the My Finance website: "The credit crunch has seen new buyers coming into the market who believe that they might as well buy art because their money is certainly not earning significant interest in the bank."
With this in mind it is more important than ever for artists and designers to be marketing their work so that wannabe investors can find them. Members of HotHive Textiles are well placed to grab some of this action by directly appealing to the 10,000 textile hobbyists, professionals and enthusiasts of all kinds who regularly visit this unique resource.

That means that a silver profile will cost you just £30 each and a gold profile just £50 (plus VAT) for an entire year.

Silver listing subscribers will receive their own web page on our highly visited site, including:
- All your contact details, a link to your website and a contact form so that our users can get in touch with you.
- 250 words to tell our readers what you can do for them.
- 4 images of your work.
- The opportunity to add news items to your listing – telling readers about the work you are doing, events you are attending and special offers you are running.

Our statistics show that your listing is more likely to be viewed if you have upgraded it. On average customers who upgrade their listing receive four times as many visitors to their page on our site than those who have a free listing. | What do I do next? |

This offer is open until midnight on Friday 21 August 2009. To upgrade your group’s listing either phone Sara on 01386 760406 with your credit or debit card details to hand and she will sign you up and explain how you can edit your page. Alternatively you can email Sara with your telephone number to register your interest and she will give you a call. Sara can be reached at textiles@thehothive.com.
Once your group’s listing has been upgraded you can then email all the members of the group and tell them about the fabulous half-price offer. Each member will then be assisted in setting up their own profiles.
