Scottish Fibres is a family owned company located on the outskirts of Edinburgh and is part of a cashmere goat and llama business supplying a wide range of fibres, equipment, materials and books for spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, knitting and associated crafts. An international mail order service is provided with secure online purchase facilities. Orders from schools and colleges are taken on official order, credit basis.

Equipment available includes Louët and Ashford spinning wheels, weaving looms and carders, a range of attractive wooden drop spindles, parts and accessories. Additional weaving equipment includes peg looms, weaving cards and sticks.

We provide a wide range of wooden knitting needles and crochet hooks (including Tunisian and flexible) in ebony, rosewood, bamboo and beech. Crochet and Tunisian hooks are made to order in most sizes.

Our range of fibres includes natural tops and dyed merino (33 colours), a wide range of exotic fibres such as cashmere, alpaca, silks and blends, along with other animal and vegetable fibres.

Felting supplies include polystyrene foot and hat moulds, felting needles, tools and fabrics.

The range of over 200 books cover all fibre crafts and include authors such as Anne Field, Chad Alice Hagen, Jenny Dean, Anne Einset Vickrey and Nicky Epstein.

For the dyers we provide a range of both natural and chemical dyes along with mordants.

Additional craft materials include quilting and embroidery frames, stands and hoops and wooden tassel making moulds which can be supplied to order.
