Jenny Rolfe has done it again! This is another joyous, colourful book, perfectly complementing her previous book (Handmade Embroidered Bags). It has the clearest instructions you are likely to see, using excellent photographs to illustrate every step.
Firstly, she introduces the materials and equipment required, and explains how she designs and gets started on a project.
Next, how to make your own fabrics, using ribbons, strip weaving, bondable fibres and free machine embroidery; also embellishments ranging from a simple brooch to machine embroidered daisies.
Full instructions are given for each of the six purses featured on the front cover, which are made using zips or magnetic closures. There are further examples pictured of each style, inspiring you to make your own unique purse. It cannot be emphasised enough just how good these instructions and photos are.
This book will suit everyone - from a complete beginner (who will need to practise the machine embroidery first) to the expert who wants a project to show off their skills.
