Suppose you could take a course in using Adobe Illustrator for fashion design from a guy who has gone from designing for fellow skateboarders to having his own line, to teaching the course at Central St. Martins for fifteen years. Does £18.99 sound like a good price? It did to me.
Kevin Tallon introduces the beginner to the Illustrator tools most useful for fashion design, and then guides you through using them for a basic repertoire of garments, adding details, tools and greater proficiency along the way. He follows with a gallery of student work and several chapters on adding textures, prints, fabric effects such as weaves and washes, and trims to your designs, as well as brand-identifying details. Finally, he shows how to use Illustrator for endless quick silhouette and design variations and for presentation within the industry.
Overall, a great addition to my library and to my skills.
