Great opportunity to get your work into Portal Zine

HotHive Textiles has had an email from Heather Simpson-Bluhm, one of the editors from Portal Zine, with a great opportunity for artists and designers. Portal Zine are looking for house and home related artwork for the upcoming issue of Portals. They are interested in interior design, such as art for walls, pillows, décor, textiles and plush, and also artwork following the theme of ‘home’. They are also particularly keen to feature more photography and are looking for ‘photo stories’ for this Home issue. Poetry and creative writing can also be entered.

Portal Zine is a mixed media art zine that provides a platform for talented but lesser known artists. In addition to the artwork, the Zine also features photography, creative writings and reviews. Previous issues have been titled ‘Reuse, Recycle, Recreate’, which looked at creative ways of transforming everyday items into beautiful art, and ‘Beads’ which provided tutorials on how to incorporate beads into your mixed media designs. The Zines, available to buy through Etsy www.etsy.com, are creatively designed and full of inspirational art, so if you think you have something to offer for their ‘Home’ issue, why not apply?

If you would like to submit your artwork to Portal Zine, it is possible to send it via email or post. Original, previously unpublished artwork may be submitted to submissions@portals-zine.com All digital files must be at least 300 dpi in either .jpg or .tiff format. Please include the artist’s name and title piece in the file name and include the artist’s full name, location and email address with your submission. Photographs against a white background are preferred. Do not send more than three attachments per email.
