At Laura's Loom I design and weave with colour and texture uppermost in my mind. My creative spirit is nurtured by special places, moody skies and intimate details. I find enormous pleasure in the woody crinkles of tree bark, the solidity and bold forms of drystone walls and the myriad of colours on a pebble beach. I place a lot of emphasis on creating fabrics which suit their purpose and designs which are striking and stand out in a crowd.

From classic silk flatweaves to pleats and doublecloth, my scarves are soft and incredibly tactile. My deeply textured handwoven throws are one-off artistic expressions of the landscape. Beauty, elegance, softness, simplicity of design and skilled weaving are the attributes and hallmarks of my work.
