The perfect way to plan your Wedding Day

This week I took a trip to the National Wedding Show, held at Birmingham NEC to find out more about what the blushing bride-to-be can expect to find at the event. This is a fantastic show for all those readers who are planning their big day as it caters not just for the bride, but for everybody in the wedding party. The National Wedding Show has over 300 experts all in one place, offering you everything you are looking for to plan your big day and lots of things you probably hadn’t even thought of yet! From wedding gowns to wedding flowers, photographers to accessories, the venue and honeymoon to table decorations, groomswear to mother of the bride, you will find it all here.

The fashion-lover in me thoroughly enjoyed the catwalk shows, which showcased an array of beautiful and stylish wedding dresses, with everything from traditional gowns to contemporary and quirky designs. The fashion show featured dresses by designers such as Jenny Packham, Naomi Neoh and Chandrika Thomas, and was a fantastic way to see the variety of gowns available. Brides could watch the shows and select their dresses from the runway, then try them on in the designer and boutique areas.

By mid afternoon I was ready for a rest so took a break in one of the many cafes and bars that were laid out around the edge of the hall. It was here that I got chatting to one of the brides at the show. She was having a great time and told me, “There are so many stalls to look around and get ideas from. It’s great to be able to see different designs of invitations and wedding favours and get an idea of what we could have at our wedding, all with there own edge and personal touches. It’s given us a lot to take home and think about and lots of inspiration for our day!”

The Wedding Show will be travelling to Earls Court in London from 2-4 October 2009 and then returns to Birmingham NEC from 9-11 October.
