Established in 1859 Trefriw Woollen Mills manufactures traditional Welsh double weave bedspreads, throws, tweeds and knitting wool from raw wool and uses water power to generate its electricity.

Visitors can take a self-guidefd tour of the working museum (Easter to end October, Monday to Friday. Weaving and hydro-electric turbines can be viewed all year Monday-Friday Handspinning demonstrations, an "opportunity to try weaving yourself" and a display of hand crafted work and naturally-dyed yarn are available April 13-16 2009 (Easter week, May 25-28 2009 (Spring Bank Holiday week) June 2-September 2009 Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Weaver's Garden contains specimen plants which provide fibres, natural dyes, soap, moth repellents and textile tools

Pure wool products are available in the shop - Welsh bedspreads, throws, tweeds and knitting wool. Stockists of pure wool knitwear and sheepskin items. Stockists of Ashford spinning wheels and Search Press books. Shop open daily all year except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
