Innovative new machine brings sewing into the 21st century

Article Added: 19/11/2008
Shad Sew have recently launched an innovative wireless device that is guaranteed to make the lives of every sewer much easier.

The device can be fitted to any make of sewing machine and is very useful for working with large pieces of material, such as curtains. Philip Shad, owner of Shad Sew and inventor of this new technology, told The Textile Directory: “You can be working with three or four metres of material and walk towards the machine while still stitching in straight lines. It is also a great device for people with special needs or those in wheelchairs as it gives them more control.”

The device was initially exclusively part of the Shad Sew range and fitted into their sewing machines, but Philip saw the potential in making it a stand-alone piece of equipment. “I was at a school and the teacher was telling me that the children kept falling over the cables. I decided to create something to correct this and bring the technology into the 21st century. The wireless part of the device runs from the foot pedal to the machine so there are no trailing cables, which is great for health and safety.”

The wireless sewing machine device is available from Shad Sew for £80 and can be purchased by calling Mr Shad on 07860 764636 or emailing him at sales@shadsew.co.uk.

Mr Shad is also happy to visit guilds and groups to demonstrate the device so if you would like to make an appointment then please give him a call. For more information about Shad Sew visit www.shadsew.co.uk.
