Get HotHive Textiles News without even visiting the site

If you want to make it even easier to keep up to date with all the latest news and events from around the textile world then HotHive Textiles has a couple of great new features for you.

Bookmarking HotHive Textiles
By bookmarking HotHive Textiles you will be able to visit us easily as soon as you start up your internet browser. To bookmark us simply hover your mouse over the ‘bookmark’ link underneath the purple arrows on the directory homepage and select the ‘favourites’ option. Choose whether you want to see our alerts in your bookmarks folder or toolbar and select your preferred option. You will then be able to see new articles we have added, without having to visit the site.

RSS Feeds
RSS feeds (also known as, “web feeds”, “channels” or “news feeds”) allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can receive notifications of our latest articles, book reviews and events straight to your computer as soon as they have been published, without having to visit the site directly. At HotHive Textiles we add new content all the time and this feed allows you to see all of our recent news, so you’ll never miss an article again!

How Do I Subscribe to the Feed?
We have found a great, free news feed reader that allows you to see all our latest content as and when it’s published. It works across platforms, so it doesn’t matter whether you use Windows or Mac, and adds a small icon to the bottom of your screen that will alert you to new articles as soon as they go up on the site.

To get this feed visit http://www.attensa.com/get-it/stable.php and follow the steps below:

1.    Select whether you are using a mac or pc from the drop-down box. If you receive your emails through outlook you can also choose to get our news feed in this way too.
2.    Enter and confirm your e-mail address and click continue.
3.    On the next page click the download link to get your reader. The application is about 8MB, which on an average broadband connection will take less than five minutes. 
4.    Once the application has downloaded you will see an ‘install attensa software’ logo has appeared on your desktop. Double click on this icon and select ‘run’.
5.    Follow the sequence through, selecting ‘next’ each time until you come to the ‘finish’ option indicating that installation is complete.
6.    Attensa will then open and you can now set up HotHive Textiles’s news feed. To do this, click ‘add’ in the top left hand corner of the screen and type in the following address: http://www.thetextiledirectory.com/rss/. Click OK. 
7.    You can then close all open screens and will notice a small blue attensa logo has appeared in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Simply click this logo when on your computer and you will be able to view all our latest news. You will also get desktop alerts when we publish something new.
