Super-Cute Crochet: Make Your Own Amigurumi Family This is a truly lovely book. As the title tells you, the crochet projects within are all ‘Super Cute’! The little creations are known as Amigurumi. As part of the book, each creature is given a loving back story, such as Alan the Lion, who is part of a Ska Band and perfectly pictured in their environments, adding even more to the cuteness. Our personal favourites are the Kitten Mrs Mittens, and Camilla the Horse! Super-Cute Crochet: Make Your Own Amigurumi Family is currently on sale in the HotHive Bookstore for £12.99, plus post and package. To order your copy, please click on the links below. ... Super-cute Crochet By Nicki Trench Published by Cico Books ISBN: 9-781906525392 Price: £12.99 Reviewed by Helen Jordan This is a book is book that lives up to its title. The patterns in the books are for the very popular tiny figures called Amigurumi. What I particularly like about this book is that each design has a sentence or two describing an aspect of the ‘life’ of each of the characters. There are three dozen of these, from eggs with eyes, a range of exotic animals, to my favourite, Dimitri the donkey. ... Click here for more information. Click here to purchase this book. |

Compendium of Crochet Techniques By Jan Eaton Published by Search Press ISBN: 1844484017 Price: £12.99 Reviewed by Helen Jordan The cover of this medium format book gives hints of the wide range of topics covered in the 160 pages. It is lively and invites the user inside. I say user rather than reader, as this is a reference book, rather than a sit down and read your way through every page epic. The small size, 20cm x 25 cm 8” x 10” makes it ideal to slip inside a project bag and keep to hand while devising and completing a project. It is not a pattern book, nor a stitch dictionary, but it is a source book – and a valuable one at that. I would not have classed the book as being suitable for an absolute novice crocheter, but anyone who has completed a couple of projects will find some fascinating insights within the pages. ...
