We have the opportunity for a machine knitter to join our designer brand in London, working full-time. There is an initial paid trial period. You must have experience in technical development for design, shape and stitch structure, knitting and finishing of high quality knitwear. Your range of expertise must include use of double bed Brother standard and chucky domestic knitting machine, knowledge of fully fashioned knitwear, a variety of knitting techniques such as intarsia, jacquard, plaiting and use of linking machine. You must be a dedicated, enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated person capable of working as part of a team.

Alison Morton - Handweaver

Alison is a handweaver in linen, producing towels and tabel linens. She is looking for somebody who can assist with her work, or individuals who would like guidance with their own weaving projects. Alison is offering anything from one-day placements to discuss weaving problems and receive some mentoring, to one-week work experience working closely with her. Work experience placements are available from September to May.

Placements for 3 months available all year round in fashion styling, beauty or journalism. The placement involves assisiting editors with research, street-style fashion reports, assist stylist at photoshoots, sample appointments and regular communication with press for content.

The William Morris Society

A creative person is required to demonstrate aspects of textile designing or production to members of the public at The William Morris Society's museum. Any method is considered, though they are particularly keen to work with someone who is inspired by Morris's work, such as weaving, dyeing, tapestry making and embroidery.
