Profile
I specialise in textile jewellery and art to wear, but also include wall-hung and 3D work in my portfolio. Most of my work includes free-machine embroidery and I use cold water dissolving film extensively. I also employ other techniques such as felting, hand embroidery, fabric painting and beading to achieve the effects I want. I enjoy working with textiles and mixed media, often re-using and recycling materials and found objects.
I give talks about my work, teach my speciality, demonstrate at needlecraft shows and exhibit in the UK and abroad as an individual and as part of a group. I also write articles and workshops for magazines and my recently published book: ‘Fibredancing, Book I: Brooches, Bracelets, Rings and Things’, shows how to begin making textile jewellery based on my designs. Future books developing more complex jewellery and accessories are planned for the near future.
